At ASK Hair & Beauty we take privacy seriously and only use the information we collect to provide our services. We do not share or sell the information we collect for any other purpose than providing the services listed.

At any time, you may request a copy of information we have recorded about you. You may also request we remove all identifiable information with respect to yourself. As a matter of course, we will delete your identifiable information if you have not undertaken business with us after four years.

If we do so, and the changes substantially affect your rights or obligations, we shall notify you if we have your email address. Otherwise, you are responsible for regularly reviewing this Privacy Policy so that you are aware of any changes to it.

By personal data we mean identifiable information about you, such as your first name and last name, email address, geographical address, mobile and home telephone number, your IP address or a photo of your hair from the salon.

For transparency, listed are the business services we provide and how each service uses the information we collect.

Hair and beauty related services

We request the minimum level of personally identifying information to run our business effectively. This is data you provide us directly, for example, your name and contact details. We will never obtain information about you indirectly from sources outside our business. We store notes with respect to services we undertake to ensure we maintain and exceed our level of service. For example, your preferred hair style, colour formula codes, how you like your coffee and who your favourite stylists are. We consider you have provided consent for us to store personally identifying information and information about your services based on your receiving services from us.

Depending on the particular service(s), we are providing we may be required to ask questions related to your medical history. We will obtain your consent prior to storing information related to your medical history. Examples of medical data may be allergies, pregnancy or an injury that may impact our service.


Appointment confirmations and reminders

We will contact you via phone, email or SMS to confirm appointments booked and remind you of upcoming appointments. We consider your having made the appointment as consent to undertake this activity but, if you want, you may opt-out at any time.

 

Appointment ratings and reviews

 

After visiting us we may send you an email or SMS asking you to rate our services and provide feedback. We consider your agreement and participation in the service as consent to undertake this activity but, if you want, you may opt out at any time.

Our salon usually operate CCTV systems that record your image during your salon visit in order to ensure the security of our customers, employees and business.

HOW WILL WE USE YOUR DATA?

We collect your data so that we can:

  • Process and manage your enquiry and booking.

  • Email you with news, special offers and updates we think you might like.

By completing an enquiry form, sending us an email, subscribing to our email newsletter, or making a booking with us we may share your data with our partner companies to enable us to communicate with you or manage your booking. When we process your booking, we may send your data to, and also use the resulting information from, credit reference agencies to prevent fraudulent purchases.

WHO DO WE SHARE YOUR DATA WITH?

Our website is hosted on the Wix.com platform. Wix.com provides us with the online platform that allows us to sell our products and services to you. Your data may be stored through Wix.com’s data storage, databases and the general Wix.com applications. They store your data on secure servers behind a firewall.

All direct payment gateways offered by wix.com, isalononline.com and used by our company adhere to the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. PCI-DSS requirements help ensure the secure handling of credit card information by our store and its service providers.

We currently use photo and video content captured in the salon for marketing purposes across our social media profiles and websites. The stylists from our salon may also use the photo or video content for marketing purposes on their personal social profiles too. If you do not wish to have your photo or video taken, please notify us in the salon or academy. If you want any content of you removed from our platforms after your appointment, please contact us on hello@askhairandbeauty.com and we will remove it in a timely fashion.

SECURITY

We shall process your personal data in a manner that ensures appropriate security of the personal data, including protection against unauthorised or unlawful processing and against accidental loss, destruction or damage. In particular, access is restricted to employees who need to know your personal data, and we use appropriate password protection and appropriate strong encryption electronic measures within our electronic data management systems.

However, unfortunately, because of the nature of electronic storage, we cannot promise that your personal data or any other data you provide to us will always remain secure. If there is a security breach, we will do all that we can as soon as we can to stop the breach and minimise the loss of any data.

MARKETING

You may consent to receive marketing email messages from us about the services we offer and our platform. You can choose to no longer receive marketing emails from us by contacting us or clicking unsubscribe from a marketing email. Please note that it may take us a few days to update our records to reflect your request.

  • Right to stop receiving marketing information: You can ask us to stop sending you information about our services, but please note we shall continue to contact you in relation to any matters relating to your appointment, if you have one.

  • Right for removal of photo or video content from our social media platforms: if you do not wish a piece of content that you are featured in to be on our social media platforms or website, please contact us directly for it to be taken down

We reserve the right to charge an administrative fee if your request in relation to your rights is manifestly unfounded or excessive.

If you have any complaints in relation to this Privacy Policy or otherwise in relation to our processing of your personal data, please tell us. We shall review and investigate your complaint and try to get back to you within a reasonable time. You can also contact the Information Commissioner, see www.ico.org.uk or if you are based outside of the United Kingdom, please contact your local regulatory authority

 

RETENTION OF PERSONAL DATA

Subject to the provisions of this Privacy Policy, we will retain personal data in accordance with applicable laws.
